Future Stars 2020

Future Stars Championship
Future Stars is a championship for 12 to 17 year old Motorcycle Racers using Yamaha R3 Motorcycles and initially running within the Junior Cup class at all Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship events. The championship will be contested by identical Yamaha R3’s which will be available to lease from Mondello Park and will run within a tightly controlled set of technical and sporting regulations.

Riders competing in the championship will score points in the current Junior Cup class but will also be eligible for a range of other benefits including an end of season Future Stars prize package, tuition from experienced racers, instruction on preparation of themselves and their bikes for race weekends, pre and mid season test days and on-going technical and coaching support.

The championship will run at all Mondello Park Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship events and the pre-season test and will be promoted and controlled by Mondello Park.

The aim of the Future Stars championship is to provide a smooth entry into Motorcycle Racing for new competitors. By taking away the need to buy a new or used race bike and by fast-tracking the learning curve for new participants through guidance and instruction, we aim to provide and accessible, level playing field on which riders can compete. The series will also be on the look out for possible future Irish racing stars that can be supported as they progress in Motorcycle Racing both at home and Internationally.

How to get involved
Getting started in Motorcycle Racing can be expensive daunting and difficult. Starting from the expensive minefield of purchasing a new or second hand bike, through learning about setting up the bike and how to ride it, takes time and investment and can often lead to frustration and an early exit from the sport.

The Future Stars class aims to provide a much more structured entry into the sport for young racers as we can provide a new bike, fully prepared for racing, in a championship where all riders will be on identical machines. The tuition and instruction provided will help riders to reach their potential much more quickly and at much less expense.

If you are interested in getting involved you can apply to Mondello Park to lease a bike from us. The closing date for 2020 submissions of interest in competing is December 6th 2019.

Bikes will be available to lease from Mondello Park and for the lease fee riders will be provided with a Yamaha R3 which is fully ready to race and supplied in the championship colours. All of the championship benefits listed above, along with the following, will be included.
