Following the latest lockdown update from the Irish Government the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship has announced a revised 2021 calendar.
Due to the necessity to reduce the number of overnight stays at the circuit the season will now start with two single day tests rather than the scheduled test weekend. Testing will run on Saturday May 8th and Saturday May 22nd ahead of a five event season.
The race season, which will begin behind closed doors, will get underway on the date previously scheduled to be round three, June 26th & 27th. The calendar will then follow its previous schedule through to September with an extra event added in October.
The full calendar will be;
May 8th – Testing – National Track
May 22nd – Testing – National Track
June 26th & 27th – Rounds 1-3 – National Track
July 24th & 25th – Rounds 4-6 – International Track
August 28th & 29th – Rounds 7-9 – National Track
September 25th & 26th – Rounds 10-12 – International Track
October 9th & 10th – Rounds 13-15 – National Track
The Masters promoters are confident that they will be able to run the new schedule and subject to Government restrictions are hopeful of welcoming spectators back before the end of the year.
